Hummingbird 20

 20 watts, all-tube power scaling, and Spaces reverb. More is better.

Inspired by iconic British and American combo amps from the 50s and 60s, the Hummingbird 20 is a bomb-proof workhorse in an neo-classic form. It combines the most desirable attributes of tweed, black-panel, and British sounds in versatile lightweight combo. Built to the highest standard, every point on the volume dial is a distinct tonal neighborhood. Crisp cleans transition seamlessly to breakup and distortion with amazing touch-sensitivity that balances a solid transient attack with singing note-bloom. The unified design of cabinet, circuit, and speaker preserves low-end focus at any volume while mid and high harmonics increase with gain. 

Output Power Control

Topping out at 20 watts, the Hummingbird features 6 levels of output power that allow you to seamlessly adapt to any environment. Using a large tube triode to regulate voltage we are able to vary the output power in a way that preserves note-bloom, harmonics and  power-tube saturation at any volume level. The first 4 power settings (20w / 18w / 15w / 10w) allow you to adapt to every performing situation and stage size without sacrificing tone. The lowest two settings (5w / 1w) are ideal for home (or even bedroom) levels with the 1w setting offering slightly more overdrive for aggressive tones at whisper-quiet levels.

The Spaces Tri-Verb

We love tube & spring reverb but traditional designs have limited usable range. The 3-Spaces reverb is comprised of 3 independently-selectable circuits, each with its own drive, decay, and tonal signature:

• Space 1 is like a "room" reverb where reflections are lively, ranging the depth and decay length based based on mix. This is the "tightest" setting, with less low-end in the wet signal and a parallel mix path that preserves your guitar's presence even at near-100% mix levels.
• Space 2 is a big, bold reverb with more low-end information and longer tails. Designed to improve upon the classic spring reverb, Space 2 offers a deeper and more spatial sound with more clarity and presence.
• Space 3 is the biggest, longest, and hottest of the three with deeper low-end and a long decay that is reminiscent of 60s spring reverb tones but is just a bit "bigger" overall. Dial in just a bit for etherial tails or drive it hard into spacey "burn" territory with massive decays

The Hummingbird 20W is for you if:

• you want power attenuation that preserves the sound of a cranked amp without having to resort to load-boxes or master volumes that don’t really work well
• you want to use the same amp for live gigs, rehearsal, and even at home
• you want rich harmonics, signing cleans, and sweet note bloom, but also who need punch and enough headroom for gain pedals
• you like to hit your amp hard with boost, overdrive and distortion pedals and really hear the output tubes working (because that's how great tone works)
  
• you want a handmde, point-to-point wired amp that is road-worthy and light enough to thrown in the back-seat
• you find the deluxe reverb a bit stiff but a tweed deluxe is too limiting
• you love the singing quality of an AC-30 but it is too loud and your boosts, distortion and fuzz pedals get squashed

Your Hummingbird ships standard with the Decker Royal 50 Ceramic Speaker and custom padded-cordura amp cover included at no additional charge. Choose the Decker Jubilee 50 AlNico Speaker for an additional charge. Both speakers are British style in their voicing and design. The Royal is very efficient and forward sounding with outstanding range from cleans to creamy breakup. It is a more aggressive and punchy speaker and feels a bit louder by comparison. The Jubilee has more compression, is slightly cleaner, has softer and deeper lows with more sparkling hight (as you might expect for AlNico). Both speakers are conservatively rated at 50 watts and can take hours of full-volume abuse without breaking a sweat.
